それは、「その人たちが仕事をする上で、何を選んで、何を大事にしているかが見えた時、そして何より、彼らがそれを楽しんでいる時」。そういう時に魅力を感じるのではないでしょうか。
ドイツ・ベルリンにある珈琲ロースター「THE BARN」のオーナー、Ralf Rüller氏との出会いにも、それを感じました。美味しい豆を求めて産地まで赴き、珈琲農家さんに話を聞き、どう焙煎すれば一番美味しくなるかを研究し、ベルリンの焙煎所で、仲間たちと美味しい珈琲を淹れてお客さんに提供する。楽しそうに。これですね。 ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー カフェ・フロッシュでは、そんな”職人気質”の仕事人をお招きして、お話を聞く会を開きます。普段はなかなか覗けない、お仕事の様子も見せてもらえるかもしれません。
麹パンの酵母で焼いた”麹ワッフル”も目の前で焼きますよ。 もちろん、珈琲はTHE BARNのオリジナル豆を、Ralfの友人でもあるCAFE FROSCHスタッフRobinが、心を込めて淹れます。京都でTHE BARNの珈琲が飲めるのは、ここだけです。

- CRAFT TABLE - Berlin Coffee x Kyoto Handicraft ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー What fascinates us about certain people's work?
We believe the answer is in the process: how those people approach their craft. When we can see the choices they make, where their values lie and of above all, their enjoyment from what they do. At these times we apprricate their work even more.
When we first met Ralf Rüller, owner of The Barn Coffee Roasters, located in Berlin, Germany we had the same feeling. In their quest for fantastic coffee, they travel to countries of origin, talk with the coffee farmers, work out the optimum process to produce the best possible product, find the best way to roast the coffee and finally offer it, poured to order, for each customer. Loving every stage in the process. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー At Cafe Frosch we're inviting people with have such an 'Artisinal Spirit' to come and talk, and give us some insight into their work and their processes.
We'll also be offering our new Koji waffles, made with the same natural starter as our Koji bread, and of course, coffee by The Barn Berlin. This is currently the only place you can drink The Barn's coffee in Kyoto!
In a laid-back atmosphere, join us around the table for discussion and tasty brunch.
